Review:
Booksy was designed as an appointment management system for salons, barbers, massage studios, and small businesses. The cloud-based software offers startups more than just scheduling software though, and includes critical business features such as marketing tools, staff scheduling, inventory management, and business statistics.
While Booksy is comparable in price with its competitors, the monthly fee does not include unlimited staff or multiple locations. The Lite plan is also limited to mobile devices, making it suitable for single-person stores but not a growing business.
Pros:
- Booksy's Boost feature helps businesses get their name out and clients in the store.
- There is a 14-day free trial of the software.
- The Pro plan includes multiple payment options with POS, online, and contactless payments.
- Boost your business revenue with salon packages, memberships, and gift cards.
- There is a user-friendly customer app for iOS and Android.
- The software integrates with Google for instant online bookings.
- Manage staff shifts, tips, and inventory from your phone.
- The platform includes a range of customer engagement tools.
Cons:
- Multiple location management is not supported.
- Many of the key business features are not included in the Lite plan.
- Unlike many of its competitors, Booksy charges a fee for each additional staff member.
- The Lite plan is mobile-only.
- Booksy does not include payroll management.
Reputation:
On SiteJabber Booksy has a rating of 1.6 out of 5 stars based on 66 customer reviews. Many of the reviewers complained about the poor customer support and the clunky customer booking app.
On TrustPilot, reviews were more favorable with an overall rating of 3.6 out of 5 stars based on 147 reviews. Here reviewers praised the software's ease of use; however, there were quite a few negative reviews also focused on the poor customer support.

Booksy vs. Fresha:
Fresha and Booksy offer similar salon management software products but have very different pricing structures. While Booksy charges a monthly fee, Fresha is free to use but charges a 20% fee for every new client booking. It does mean that Fresha works out more affordable during "slow" months. Fresha is also the better choice for a growing business.

However, Rosy charges just $10.00 per additional employee compared to Booksy's $20.00, making it a better option for a growing business.
